Marvel, ABC and IMAX's joint project seem to be moving along nicely. The Hollywood Reporter has reported that "Iron Fist" executive producer/showrunner Scott Buck will also serve as showrunner for "The Inhumans."

Buck has already worked on shows such as "Dexter," "Six Feet Under," "Rome" and "Everybody Loves Raymond" so he has been around even before Marvel and Netflix hired him to serve as the showrunner for "Iron Fist." Right now, it isn't known if Buck will have writing duties as well, but it will be interesting to see how he juggles his duties between the two shows.

"The Inhumans" was supposed to be a feature film before Marvel announced that they are bringing it to the small screen instead. The first season of "The Inhumans" will consist of eight episodes, and the first two episodes will be shot entirely with IMAX cameras.

IMAX will also be financing the development of series. The first two episodes of the show will premiere on or around Sept. 1, 2017 in IMAX theaters across the globe and the episodes will run for two weeks in the cinemas before they premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 on ABC. "The Inhumans" will be the third Marvel series on ABC after "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Agent Carter."

Aside from the fact that some of the scenes are going to be set on the moon, not much is known right now regarding the plot for the series. CinemaBlend's Laura Hurley thinks the series may be set in a different era than Marvel's other TV shows and their Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films.

Meanwhile, it is generally believed that all the major players in the Inhumans royal family may appear in the show, so expect to see Black Bolt, Medusa, Karnak, Triton, Gorgon, Crystal and Lockjaw on "The Inhumans." The show will also need a villain, so fans will probably meet Maximus the Mad as well.
