'The King of Fighters XIV' latest news, updates: Free demo of version 1.10 update now available

The iconic video game "The King of Fighters XIV" recently released a new demo for its Version 1.10 update.

According to SIliconera, SNK released the demo in Japan on Monday, Dec. 26, and it also launched in North America later in the same day.

As indicated in the provided description in the PlayStation Store, the released Demo Version 2 will give users a preview of the graphical improvements that have been made in the upcoming Version 1.10 update. The game also offers 2 additional color variations for each of the playable characters. The playable cast was also updated, which will provide a new gaming experience for all gamers.

The version 2 demo of the video game features several playable characters such as Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Shun'ei, King of Dinosaurs, Terry Bogard, Leona Heidern, and Yuri Sakazaki. It also has three different game modes: training mode, VS mode, and tutorial mode.

Since the Version 2 Demo is simply a free trial version of the upcoming full updated version of "The King of Fighters XIV," all functionality in the trial version is not guaranteed.

"The King of Fighters XIV" is a popular fighting style game which was developed by SNK. Well-received by critics and beloved by gamers, this "King of Fighters" iteration has reportedly revived the former glory of the franchise. It has been praised for its gameplay as well as its core mechanics. The game has been launched back in August 2016.

The Ver. 1.10 update to the full game is scheduled for release next year, on Jan. 11. As explained by game producer Yasuyuki Oda on the PlayStation Blog, the update will feature upgrades in aspects such as shaders and lighting that will improve the game's overall visuals. The color variations per character will also be increased from 4 to 6 with this upcoming update.

"The King of Fighters XIV" is now available for the PlayStation 4 worldwide. An arcade version is slated to be launched sometime in the middle of February 2017 in Japan.
