The Mentalist' Season 7 Premiere Spoilers, Recap: Jane Wants a Low-Key Romance
The much awaited series, "The Mentalist," finally premiered last Sunday on CBS. The second episode will air on Dec. 7, 9 p.m. ET/PT.
The season opened with Lisbon (Robin Tunney) talking to Jane (Simon Baker) and telling her that she should have her own key to his place, but Jane suggested that they keep their romance low key.
Agent Fisher (Emily Swallow) was gone, and Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon were officially a couple.
We remember Season 6 ending with Patrick finally expressing her love for Teresa and convincing her about how much he needed her in his life. What happened after that was left to our imagination.
During the premiere, we also saw the entry of a new character who sources say will be playing a significant role. She is Michelle Vega (Josie Loren), who plays an FBI rookie, the newest addition to Patrick's team. Rumor has it that Michelle will create a love triangle along with the new couple. It will become difficult for Patrick and Teresa as they keep their relationship a secret from their colleagues.
The case of the week involved an undercover FBI agent murdered while investigating outside a bowling alley. Patrick Jane successfully solved the case and uncovered hidden guns. He also found out that the alley's manager was the ultimate killer/kidnapper. At the end of the episode, Patrick bumped into Marcus Pike (Pedro Pascal), and then apologized for how things had come out with Teresa.
Marcus then asked, "So, do you have a plan?" making Patrick remember that Marcus offered Teresa a home and a family she had always wanted. Patrick then admitted that he doesn't, but quickly added that they would do whatever would make them happy.
