'The Originals' season 4 air date, news, spoilers: Hayley and Klaus' relationship to get better in upcoming season
Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) relationship gets better than ever when The CW's hit supernatural spinoff drama "The Originals" officially returns next year.
The former lovers may have gone separate ways, but their reunion this coming season will make a huge difference in their relationship. The third season left off with Hayley and Klaus in a good place, but it will get even better when the story picks up next year. In a recent interview with TV Line, executive producer Michael Narducci recalled what happened to the two characters and shared teasers on what's next for them.
"Hayley and Klaus ended Season 3 in a pretty good place," the EP said. "He was able to do what he had to in order to save his siblings, and he was able to trust his child in the hands of this woman he has come to respect and trust more than he does a lot of other people," he added. It turns out that things between the two are only going to be better when they eventually see each other again. According to Narducci, the idea of how they both want the best for their child will play a huge part on Hayley and Klaus' reconciliation.
"They trust and each other and will do whatever it takes to protect their kid, and I think you'll start to see a lot more of that," he added. "They're not lovers, but they're parents of this girl, and they have to be in concert if they're going to do everything they need to do to raise her and protect her," the EP went on to say.
On another note, it was announced last month that a character from "The Vampire Diaries" is crossing over to the series: Matt Davis' Alaric. The said character is slated to appear in "The Originals" when he delivers a valuable artifact to Elijah (Daniel Gillies) in the season's eighth episode, which will air in May 2017.
The fourth season of "The Originals" premieres on Friday, March 17, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
