'The Originals' season 4 spoilers: Elijah and Hayley's star-crossed relationship gets more complicated
Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) star-crossed romance gets more complicated when "The Originals" debuts its much-anticipated fourth season in March.
Since the show has been off-air for a long while, viewers will see a dramatically different version of "The Originals" than before. After some years, several members of the first family of vampires will remain trapped, which means there's no Elijah and Klaus for now. Considering Elijah's relationship with Hayley, this is sad news because it's still not clear how he could get out of his current state. Although it is believed that he'll eventually be back and things will begin to fall into place, there's no guarantee that Elijah and Hayley will get their happy ending soon.
The show's ill-fated lovers may exist on different planes, but in a recent interview, executive producer Michael Narducci hinted that season 4 will immediately show Hayley's efforts to get the final pieces of the puzzle as she tries to rescue Elijah and his siblings.
"They have one of the most dynamic journeys that we're going to have dramatized this season," Narducci told TV Line. "These are two people who clearly love each other, even though they have a very complicated situation... When their family is put in jeopardy, these two people are going to do whatever they have to do to protect each other," he added.
As for Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley, the two characters have become good friends despite their problems in the past. Towards the end of season 3, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) convicted Klaus and sentenced him to desiccate at the Lafayette Cemetery. Knowing what lies ahead for him, Klaus entrusted his daughter Hope in the hands of Hayley. Besides raising Hope by herself, Hayley must find magical cures for all the Mikaelson siblings to make sure that their whole family survives.
The fourth season of "The Originals" premieres on Friday, March 17, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
