'The Originals' season 4 spoilers: Premiere synopsis revealed; first promo images show Klaus confronting Marcel
The search for a cure continues on the upcoming episode of "The Originals" season 4.
Titled "Gather Up the Killers," the season's premiere kicks off five years after Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) defeat. According to the official synopsis, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) is now the king of the city. On the fifth anniversary of Klaus' defeat, Marcel welcomes new vampires to New Orleans. He later finds out that they might be a threat to his rule, so he decides to seek counsel from an unlikely source.
Elsewhere, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) finally closes in on a cure that could allow her to revive Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and the rest of the sleeping Mikaelsons. However, she must first face a final task that will push her to make a difficult decision.
When the series returns next month, New Orleans will be filled with both familiar and new faces. The network released a series of new promo images for the premiere, and it offers a first look at newcomer Christina Moses. The "Containment" actress has been tapped to play Keelin, an openly bisexual ER. She is also the last living werewolf from her line. Other photos feature a defeated Klaus confronting Marcel, and Hayley, who's still trying to find a way to save the vampires.
Earlier this week, The CW also unveiled the first poster for the next installment. It showcases an all-grown-up Hope, who will now be portrayed by child actress Summer Fontana. Spoiler reports note that the daughter of Klaus and Hayley will be one of the main focuses this season as she continues to explore her powers as a hybrid of different supernatural species. It is believed that she could both be a blessing and a curse to the whole Mikaelson family.
The fourth season of "The Originals" premieres on Friday, March 17, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
