'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' season 9 news: Phaedra Parks speaks out on Apollo Nida's engagement to Sherien Almufti
After confirming that her divorce has been finalized, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA)" Phaedra Parks finally opened up about the engagement of Apollo Nida, her ex, to Sherien Almufti.
Apollo recently made headlines when it was reported that he got engaged with Sherien last month. In a recent interview with The Daily Dish, Phaedra shared her thoughts on her former partner's new romance. "I wish him all the best," she said.
Although Phaedra and Apollo have decided to go their separate ways, it doesn't mean that Apollo is no longer an active parent to their sons Dylan, 3, and Ayden, 6. Apollo is currently serving an eight-year prison sentence for identity theft and fraud, but Phaedra confirmed that her ex still communicates with their kids on a regular basis.
"They talk to Apollo, so I don't inflect any of my thoughts about it. They have a relationship with their dad, so we dont have conversations," the mom of two continued. "They speak to him themselves very regularly."
Over the weekend, TMZ released Apollo and Sherien's engagement photos at the Federal Correctional Institute in Fort Dix, New Jersey. Taken last month, the images show Sherien wearing a black top, jeans, and heels as she poses next to her fiancé. The couple reportedly posed in front of a fake background inside the prison.
It has been previously reported that Sherien will soon join Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" as a cast member. Whether she'll appear as a regular remains to be seen, but there are speculations that she is scheduled to arrive in season 10 to tackle her relationship with Apollo.
Last month, Sherien shared an Instagram photo hinting her "RHOA" stint with a caption: "Shout out to @desiree addiesia got me looking like a porcelain doll for a very shady event! Lol #atl #rhoa #arabianqueen."
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" season 9 airs every Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
