'The Sims 4' Mac Version Release Date, PC News: Mac Version Now Available for Download for PC Version Owners

Months after "The Sims 4" for Windows PC was officially released, its developer has made a Mac version of the game available via Origin at no extra cost.

But it will only be free for Mac users if they already own the game for Windows PC which can then be converted into a Mac version by simply using a USB flash disk drive.

"Simmers who already owned the Windows PC version of the game through digital or physical copies can now download the Mac version using a valid Origin account," the International Business Times said, citing an article on GameSpot.

Aside from exclusive entitlement of "The Sims 4" Mac version among Windows PC game version owners, players can also transfer save files to Mac computers by simply using a USB.

GameSpot instructed players to go to the My Computer on the Windows PC, find the Documents folder and select the Electronic Arts before opening "The Sims 4" folder.

Once opened, players should connect the USB flash disk drive with enough space for the file folder, where they can copy and paste the "saves" folder from "The Sims 4" folder to the USB flash disk drive.

After safely removing the USB flash disk drive and connecting it to the Mac computer, players should first open Finder to go to Documents and Electronic Arts, where they can find Sims 4 folder.

They can now copy and paste the "saves" folder from the USB flash disk drive to the "The Sims 4" folder on the Mac computer.

"Any "saves" folder will be overwritten by the file folder from the USB flash disk drive. It is recommended to rename any "saves" folder on the Mac computer prior to transfer for later use," the game website warned.

Electronic Arts Inc. and Maxis have the planned the launching of the first expansion pack called "Get To Work" in April 2015. The pack includes four new jobs, including Emergency Room Doctor, Police Detective, Scientists and Entrepreneur.

EA and Maxis have released an official game play trailer for the ER Doctor. They promised to release another trailer for the Detective on Feb. 25.
