Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will be trapped into making a difficult choice that Cade (Wole Parks) lays down on him. Meanwhile, Nina Dobrev is officially returning for the season 8 finale to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert.

In the upcoming 11th episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 titled, "You Made a Choice to be Good," Cade will be putting Damon in a difficult situation, making him choose between fulfilling the devil's task or facing the consequence of not doing so.

The episode's synopsis reads: "Cade returns to Mystic Falls and presents Damon and Stefan (Paul Wesley) with additional assignments, each with unthinkable consequences. Even with tension growing in their friendship, Caroline (Candice King) and Matt (Zach Roerig) do their best to protect the town's residents from Cade's appetite for their souls."

As seen from the episode promo, Cade will make Damon choose between killing 100 evil strangers or kill the love of his brother's life, Caroline.

Caroline and Damon will try to find a way to get out of Cade's assignment, but it seems that the devil will find out what they're up to, putting Caroline in a fatally dangerous position.

Aside from this mess, Bonnie (Kat Graham) will be going on a romantic road trip with Enzo (Michael Malarkey), and they will bring along the bell to keep it from harm's reach.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Dobrev will be returning for the final episode of the eight-season run of "The Vampire Diaries."

Dobrev confirmed her return when she posted a photo of her script for episode 16 titled "I Was Feeling Epic" on her Instagram, captioning that it was not a Throwback Thursday post.

The writers for episode 16 — Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson — released statements just after Dobrev posted her photo.

"I'm thrilled to bring this show to an end the way we always intended – with Nina back to help us say goodbye," Plec said according to E! News.

"I'm so excited to have Nina back to ensure our farewell episode is truly epic!" Williamson added.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 airs every Friday night at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
