'The Walking Dead' season 7 episode 8 spoilers: Negan's visit to Alexandria continues; Jeffrey Dean Morgan hints 'creepy' midseason finale
Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) stay in Alexandria leads to more complications in the upcoming episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7.
Titled "Hearts Still Beating," next week's mid-season finale will see the story continue to focus on Negan and the Alexandrians. To give fans an idea of what's to come, the official synopsis for episode 8 reads, "Negan's unwelcome visit to Alexandria continues as other members scavenge for supplies; things quickly spin out of control."
In the previous episode titled "Sing Me a Song," Carl (Chandler Riggs) failed to infiltrate the Sanctuary and kill Negan. The show's big bad spent the entire episode terrorizing Carl by forcing him to take off the bandage covering his missing eye. However, viewers also saw a different side of him when he started showing genuine affection to the teen who attempted to take him out. At the end of the episode, Negan told Carl that he might just kill him and Rick (Andrew Lincoln) so that he could claim Alexandria as his own territory. While waiting for Rick to be back, Negan was seen on the porch with Judith and Carl.
Morgan recently caught up with Entertainment Weekly, and he spoke about what happens next in episode 8. According to the actor, Rick won't be so happy when he returns home. "I'm there waiting for Rick. We are going to wait for Rick, and I would imagine that Rick is probably not going to be super thrilled to see me there with his family," Morgan said.
There are some speculations that the midseason finale will feature yet another major character's death. Although the synopsis didn't give anything significant away, Morgan hints that the next episode is not something viewers should miss. "It's creepy, man. It's creepy. We'll see where that goes. Mid-season finale, you know it's going to be big," he added.
"The Walking Dead" season 7 airs every Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
