Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the group will finally stand up against their biggest oppressor in the second half of "The Walking Dead" season 7.

During the first eight episodes of the season, the group was brutally terrorized by another flock of survivors called the Saviors, led by their ruthless and manipulative leader named Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

The group lost some of their loved ones in the hands of Negan, including their moral compass and Maggie's (Lauren Cohan) husband Glenn (Steven Yeun), as well as Sasha's (Sonequa Martin-Green) boyfriend Abraham (Michael Cudlitz). Both were beaten to death by Negan using his barbed-wire-laden baseball bat which he fondly called Lucille.

After having to endure Negan's torments, Rick and the rest of the group will work with the other settlements like the people from Hilltop Colony and the Kingdom. But it does not mean that it will be easy for them to defeat Negan.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Cohan revealed that Negan's reign will continue to flourish despite the uprising. "It's only just beginning, really," Cohan stated. "He has such a life, such an electric energy, and that what makes this character so terrifying."

The casting for season 8 also proved that Negan will not go anywhere in the upcoming episodes of the post-apocalyptic zombie thriller. The report also quoted the warning of series creator Robert Kirkman saying that the Savior leader "is going to be an ever-present, constant threat that is going to change everything moving forward."

Meanwhile, the identity of the person spying on the Alexandria Safe-Zone group at the end of the midseason finale will be identified when the series returns for the second half of season 7.

According to the statement from fan-based Spoiling Dead Fans site, the character seen with a pair of binoculars has yet to appear in the series. The person is rumored to have come from a new group called Garbage Pail Kids.

AMC will air the midseason premiere of "The Walking Dead" season 7 on Sunday, Feb. 12.
