"The Walking Dead" character Jerry (Cooper Andrews) has only been in three episodes this season, but he immediately became a fan-favorite because of his enthusiastic personality. Despite his short appearance in Sunday's hour, Andrews confirmed that more of King Ezekiel's right-hand man will be seen in the upcoming episodes.

Speaking with Yahoo TV, the actor said he didn't expect the positive feedback he's been receiving since he joined the show. He also explained that his character is somewhat a representation of the Kingdom, which makes Ezekiel gravitate towards him.

"When he's outside the Kingdom, he's there to help," Andrews said. "He has a bag when he's carrying the... when they're walking up to Carol's house, you notice that he has this giant ax. What's in that bag is an oversized thing of cobbler... but when he's out on these patrols, he's not there to kill," he added.

Andrews stressed that the ax that Jerry always brings is just a representation of how protective he is. Instead of conquering other communities, he'd rather protect his own friends. "I love that the Kingdom is like that, and I think Ezekiel sees that in Jerry and keeps him close," he added.

The last episode also introduced a military-like junkyard community dubbed as the "Heapsters." They are led by a mysterious woman named Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh), and they use trash as weapons. Following Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) match with a spiked walker, Jadis ended up agreeing to join Rick in his fight against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors.

Whether or not Jadis can be trusted remains to be seen, but in an interview, McIntosh teased that "there's going to be a lot of adventure" in the next episodes. Many fans have noticed her similarities with comic series character Alpha. The actress said she's heard the rumors, but as far as talking to the producers, "it's never come up."

The seventh season of "The Walking Dead" airs every Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
