'This Is Us' season 1 episode 14 spoilers: Duke tries to win Kate's heart; 'The Fosters' actress joins cast as younger Sophie
Kate's (Chrissy Metz) new friend tests her loyalty to Toby (Chris Sullivan) on the upcoming episode of NBC's hit family drama "This Is Us" season 1.
Titled "I Call Marriage," this week's episode will see each of the characters deal with relationship issues. Randall (Sterling K. Brown) finds it difficult to accept his father's deteriorating health, while Toby throws a wrench in Kate's journey to lose weight. Meanwhile, Kevin (Justin Hartley) looks back at his past relationships and examines where he went wrong. Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) receive devastating news from Miguel (Jon Huertas) and Shelly (Wynn Everett), making them worry about the future of their relationship.
A new clip from the episode has been released, and it shows Duke (Adam Bartley) still trying to hook up with Kate. After a long day of doing different workouts, Kate runs into Duke while having a conversation with a friend. The stable hand takes the opportunity to compliment Kate by telling her she looks hot. It is expected that Duke becomes one of the reasons why Kate and Toby's path to wedded bliss won't run smoothly. "Sometimes relationships when they are tried and tested, they either fall apart or they get stronger," the actress previously teased. "We don't know what's going to happen with that," she went on to say.
In other news, "The Fosters" actress Amanda Leighton recently joined the NBC series as Kevin's childhood sweetheart, Sophie. The exact age she'll be playing Sophie is being kept under wraps, but given Kevin and Sophie's long history and early marriage, it's possible that her character is in her late teens or early 20s. The last episode featuring Sophie as an adult showed Kevin realizing that he still loves her. Kevin arrived at her doorstep in a grand sweeping romantic gesture, asking her to go out with him for coffee.
The first season of "This Is Us" airs every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
