One of the Pearson kids takes a trip down memory lane on the upcoming episode of NBC's family drama "This Is Us" season 1.

Titled "Memphis," next week's episode will see Randall (Sterling K. Brown) learn more about his roots. According to the official synopsis, Randall and his biological father, William (Ron Cephas Jones), take a road trip to Memphis. Upon reaching his hometown, William tells stories about his life before Randall was born.

NBC released a new promo for the episode, and it shows Randall saying that his cancer-stricken father doesn't have much time left. To make the most out of his last days, Randall takes his father to a trip so he could learn more about him. At some point in the clip, Randall and William share a light moment while walking along the street. The next scene cuts to Randall excitedly calling his wife and telling her that William is playing piano on stage inside a bar. The clip ends with William thanking his son for the trip and calling him his "beautiful boy."

Tuesday's hour revealed that Randall has struggled with anxiety since he was a child, leading to more stress in his high school years. Fans saw how he collapsed in tears multiple times because of all the problems piling on him. Viewers may be worried about his health, but executive producer Ken Olin hopes that they could also see the good things happening to him.

"At the end of [episode] 15, I hope as much as anybody would be worried about him, we were going for seeing how much the relationship between the two brothers has grown, and that Kevin has reached a point in his life," the EP told Entertainment Weekly. "And that is as important as anything... People do grow in their lives, and Kevin and Randall have grown," he added.

The first season of "This Is Us" airs every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
