"This Is Us" kicks off next week, and an upcoming episode of the rookie NBC drama will take viewers back to when The Big Three was born.

NBC screened the episode titled "The Big Day" for reporters last week during the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. After revealing Toby's (Chris Sullivan) fate, the said episode will serve as a reset of sorts as it will feature a standalone flashback episode focusing on fan-favorite Dr. K (Gerald McRaney), Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), and Rebecca (Mandy Moore). The story picks up with the birth of Kate (Chrissy Metz), Kevin (Justin Hartley), and Randall (Sterling K. Brown).

In addition, it will feature the backstory of the firefighter (Brian Oblak) who brought baby Randall to the hospital, as well as Dr. K's family life. McRaney spoke with The Hollywood Reporter recently and admitted that the episode also made him emotional. "I was crying reading the episode. These guys do that to you," the actor shared. "I've heard that from other people who had to read the script," he added.

On another note, it seems that Moore has won over her leading man's heart. During this year's Golden Globes red carpet, Ventimiglia revealed that he's happy to know that he is Moore's favorite on-screen kiss. "I respect and I appreciate that [I'm her favorite] and she is mine," he told TV Guide, adding, "It's one of those things, like, your current girlfriend, you have to say 'She's the best.'" Ventimiglia went on to say that he's stoked to be at the top of the "Cry" singer's list, considering her previous on-screen partners including Erik von Detten and Shane West

Moore and Ventimiglia both attended the 74th Annual Golden Globes to support their show, which has been nominated for Best Drama Series. Moore, along with her co-star Metz, also received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

The first season of "This Is Us" returns on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
