'Thor: Ragnarok' premiere date, spoilers, update: 'Planet Hulk' storyline to be added; Korg to make appearance?
There's still a long way to go until "Thor: Ragnarok" hits the big screen. But as expected, fans are getting some updates on the third installment of the franchise.
During the San Diego Comic-Con, hints regarding the upcoming movie were all over the place. The most noted one is the incorporation of some story plots from the famous Marvel Comics "Planet Hulk." Reports said the film is borrowing some elements from the classic storyline as Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will be fighting his way out of a space gladiator pit with the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).
The two super characters will be going through some gladiator matches which are said to be run by The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) and enforced by Skurge (Karl Urban), an Asgardian known in the comics as a supervillain with a magic double-bladed battle axe.
It's also going to be in this planet where Thor is guessed to cross paths with fellow player, Valkyrie, who is reportedly going to be played Tessa Thompson. Teaming up, Hulk, Thor and Valkyrie will find their door to escape the gladiator arena. They will also be on a mission to stop doom from befalling Ragnarok.
Rumor has it that Valkyrie is going to be Thor's new love interest. However, those rumors were dismissed. Thor and Valkyrie will not become a couple in the film. It is believed that the two will just remain friends although there will be a spark between the two.
With that said, Jane Foster is still going to be the love interest of Thor even though actress Natalie Portman isn't going to appear in the third movie.
Moreover, director Taika Waititi teased in his Instagram account a photo of a rainbow colored keyboard with the word Korg on it. Although he did not reveal much, it suggested that the giant rock warrior which already appeared in "Thor: The Dark World" will be making a second appearance.
"Thor: Ragnarok" is slated to premiere on Nov. 3, 2017.
