'Thor: Ragnarok' spoilers: No new love interest for God of Thunder but there will be 'spark' with new character
Natalie Portman will not be back in "Thor Ragnarok" to reprise her role as Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) love interest Jane Foster, but it appears that the God of Thunder will be too busy for roman anyway.
Days ago, there were rumors that the new character Valkyrie played by Tessa Thompson will be romantically linked to Thor in his next standalone film.
According to the folks from ScreenGeek, this won't be the case. They said that while Valkyrie will befriend Thor, "they don't actually become a couple although there's a spark between them."
It remains to be seen if this "spark" could develop into romance in the future. However, Thor has a lot to think about with his him in danger, so it is likely that romantic affairs will be his least worries.
Besides, it appears that Thor will still be crazy for Jane. Her absence in "Thor Ragnarok" is only due to the fact that the scenes in the film are mostly set in the cosmos and that only "a couple of scenes" will be set on Earth.
Those who wonder why Jane is out of the picture or why she won't be in the film, Marvel President Kevin Feige himself promised on The Empire Film Podcast that it will be explained. He even hinted that there are "many reasons" Jane is not on "Thor Ragnarok."
"Thor: Ragnarok" will see Thor and Bruce Banner aka The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) on a space adventure that will see them fight alongside each other and against each other.
It is believed to depict the death of Asgard and Thor's ultimate bid to save it. Hulk's bit is expected to involve the character's infamous comic book storyline "Planet Hulk."
Tom Hiddleston will be back as Thor's brother Loki although his appearance in "Thor Ragnarok" is said to be the actor's last time playing the character. The big bad will be Ayesha played by Elizabeth Debicki. Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba will be back as Odin and Heimdall, respectively.
"Thor Ragnarok" releases Nov. 3, 2017.
