'Total War: Warhammer' DLC latest news & update: Major DLC coming before Christmas as Bretonnia moved for next year
Creative Assembly will release a physical "Old World Edition" edition for its turn-based strategy real-time tactics video game, "Total War: Warhammer" next year.
This edition will come with an exclusive novella by "Total War" writer Andy Hall titled "The Prince of Altdorf" and will add a brand new faction called Bretonnia. The description for the faction is as follows:
"A contrast of lowly peasant masses and proud knightly orders, the feudal kingdom of Bretonnia features a host of powerful units and is lead into battle by a choice of three playable Legendary Lords; King Louen Leoncoeur, Alberic of Bordeleaux and the Fay Enchantress," reads a statement from publisher Sega. "More details about this iconic Warhammer race will be revealed in the new year."
The "Old World Edition" edition of "Total War: Warhammer" will be released in February 2017. Creative Assembly will update the game for those who already have a copy for them to be able to get the Bretonnia Race Pack for free at the Steam Store.
The Bretonnia Race Pack was supposed to be released this year, but due to a change of plans, which Creative Assembly warned users about, it will see the light of day next year instead.
"We took the opportunity of repackaging the game to add in more content for Bretonnia, with additional units and a third Legendary Lord for example," the company explained on its FAQ (frequently asked questions) page.
However, there is still downloadable content (DLC) coming to "Total War: Warhammer" before the year ends. The next major DLC expansion and Free-LC will arrive before Christmas. "It is growing now, there will be more news soon," Creative Assembly teased.
There will also be more Free-LC to expect for "Total War: Warhammer." Details on what's next for the game were detailed by the studio on this page.
