'Total War: Warhammer' DLC release date, gameplay latest news 2016: Update enables AI Regiments of Renown recruitment; Grombrindal DLC confirmed
An upcoming update for "Total War: Warhammer" will allow major AI factions to recruit Regiments of Renown units to fight for their cause.
Creative Assembly, the developer behind the popular turn-based strategy real-time tactics video game, announced the new feature in a recent Facebook post. "We listened to your feedback on Regiments of Renown, and we've got some news about what's coming in the next update," the studio said.
According to Creative Assembly, a forthcoming update for "Total War: Warhammer" will allow AI factions in a race that has Regiments of Renown to recruit them if "the player is not a faction within their race."
"Essentially only one faction per race can have Regiments of Renown units at any given time, and the player will always take precedence," the post read, adding, "So if you are playing as the Empire and you go up against Ostland, they will not be able to recruit Regiments of Renown."
Creative Assembly concluded the post by saying that players playing as the Empire and going up against the Vampire Counts should watch out.
The Regiments of Renown were added to "Total War: Warhammer" with the recent The Grim & The Grave DLC. Creative Assembly has not announced when the update will be released.
Meanwhile, PC Invasion has confirmed that the Grombrindal DLC that was discovered in the "Total War: Warhammer" SteamDB files last month is an actual, upcoming DLC.
The Grombrindal DLC was first spotted in an alleged photo of the November issue of White Dwarf, the "ultimate 'Warhammer' magazine." The image of Grombrindal was accompanied by the words "Exclusive Free New Lord" and "Award Winning PC Strategy Game."
A photo of the magazine cover showing the Grombrindal DLC is still up on Reddit.
PC Invasion notes that because Grombrindal is the mascot of White Dwarf, it is unclear if the DLC will be exclusive to the magazine's readers. The website notes that fans should find out more about the Grombrindal DLC sometime this month.
