'Ultra Street Fighter IV' Release Date News Update: Sony to Release on PS4 May 26
Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 version of "Ultra Street Fighter IV" will be released next month. The latest game in the "Street Fighter" franchise is already available for older consoles such as the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Sony made the announcement on its PlayStation blog, saying the game would be released to PS4 consoles worldwide on May 26.
The game port for the PS4 is being developed by Other Ocean Interactive. There are indications that the port for the PS4 will be offered exclusively, which means that the game will not be released for the Xbox One.
Making the announcement on the PlayStation blog, production director Gio Corsi said "Ultra Street Fighter IV" for the PS4 would contain all the characters, DLC, and upgrades that have previously been released for the game. Sony also assured that the game will play smoothly on the PS4 and bring a better experience to gamers.
Corsi said the lag issues experienced with "Ultra Street Fighter IV" on the PS3 had been resolved. He explained how the "minor input lag in the controls of Ultra Street Fighter IV for PS3 has been eliminated and now Sony wanted it to be the ultimate version of the game."
"Ultra Street Fighter IV" will be priced at $24.99 on the PlayStation Network. There was no mention if the game would also be sold as physical editions. When "Ultra Street Fighter IV" was released last year, it attracted good reviews which lauded its new characters – Rolento, Elena, Hugo, Decapre and Poison – and its improved fighting mechanics.
