The recent presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump is expected to turn the tides and have massive impact in the coming polls.

A poll by CNN shows that Clinton emerged the victor in the clash held Monday, Sept. 26 at the Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

She garnered 62 percent of the votes from the debate watchers while Trump got 27 percent, which put her in a whopping 37 percent lead that is definitely one for the books.

The gap in the presidential debate results went on to be the third highest looking back to any post-debate polls the CNN or Gallup dating all the way back to 1984.

The voters saw Clinton as the "stronger leader," was "more sincere and authentic," and clearly had a "better understanding of the issues" while many voters agreed Trump spent more time "attacking" his opponent.

According to Five Thirty Eight, Clinton's massive lead and clear victory at the debate will ultimately help her in the presidential polls in the coming days.

Votes surged in the presidential polls back in 1992 for Bill Clinton after the debate against George H.W. Bush and Ross Perot while Mitt Romney's domination in the debate against Barack Obama in 2012 also helped him gain more votes.

This could very well be the same for Clinton following her performance in the first presidential debate. Such poll surge could not come at a better time with the election a little over a month away.

The site also says that the post-debate coverage helps Clinton since most of the experts agree that she won the first presidential debate against Trump.

For the first time in a long time, pundits and voters are actually of the same mind as to Clinton's win, which all the more suggest that her victory on Monday night will reflect in the presidential polls.
