Last week's episode showed Damon attacking the alum, and it seems like he is not yet done. Another character will be attacked by the vampire, and it seems like this character will not appreciate his surprise visit.

In the upcoming visit, the siren Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) will have another task for the older Salvatore brother. Damon will have to find a mysterious artifact, which will take him all the way to Texas. In this trip, Damon will come across a character named Peter Maxwell (Joel Gretsch), and their meeting will reportedly lead to a revelation.

Maxwell's character description indicates that he is "a blue-collar guy who abandoned his family a long time ago. He is shocked when his grown son walks back into his life to reconnect— and to drag Peter into a world of supernatural dangers."

The character might be Matt's (Zach Roerig) father since the alum is set to make an appearance in the fourth episode of the final season. Matt will return to the show when his past and present clash.

Meanwhile, in Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Alaric's (Matt Davis) attempt to save Damon and Enzo (Michael Malarkey), the pair uncover the truth behind their supernatural enemy.

The upcoming episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 is titled "An Eternity of Misery." The title was reportedly derived from an episode in the pilot season of the show, when the Salvatore brothers just turned into vampires and Damon wasn't happy about it at all. It refers to a line Damon uttered to Stefan, telling his brother that he has him for all eternity, and that he will make it an eternity of misery for him.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 4 premieres this Friday at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
