Vikings Season 3 Release Date 2015, Plot Spoilers: Major Deaths Coming in Season 3
An official release date has not been confirmed but Vikings Season 3 is expected to be shown in summer 2015, which is still a full year from now.
The production team first aired the trailer of Vikings in the San Diego Comic Con of 2013. The show was officially aired in February 2014. Its fanbase has reached an average of 3.4 million by the end of Season 2.
Fans can look forward to another array of brutal battles in this upcoming season, with the end of Season 2 marking the end of Horik's reign as the King of Danes. Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) now takes the spot as King.
If you thought that Jarl Borg's death was too shocking, then wait until Season 3 starts airing. In an interview with Yahoo TV, Katherine Winnick (who plays as Lagertha) says, "Season 3 is even more epic than Season 2. If you thought you loved Season 2, Season 3 just takes it to a whole new level".
Alexander Ludwig, who plays the role of Bjorn, added, "It's only getting grittier, and I think that's why the fans are just absolutely in love with it right now."
Rumor has it that Season 3 will feature many unexpected deaths including the death of a major character.
On another note, according to TV Guide, two new major characters will be part of Season 3. One of them, reportedly named Harbard, is coming to Kattegatt. Another character named Kalf will be appearing in the next season.
