'Vikings' Season 5 plot news: More battle scenes in the following season
The cast and crew of the hit period drama TV series "Vikings" have already wrapped up for the season. Though the second half of the present season won't be revealed until next month, Katheryn Winnick, who portrays Lagertha in the series, shared several behind-the-scenes photos that will suffice for now.
The actress shared photos and videos on her Instagram account while they were still filming the second half of "Vikings" season 4 and a few episodes of season 5.
In a series of Instagram videos, Winnick shared how they created and brought to life an epic battle scene, which viewers will be able to witness in "Vikings" season 5.
One video showed two opposing parties charging towards each other. For effect, the actress shared it in slow motion. Winnick captioned the video, "Epic day on set. Big thank you to our amazing background actors and stunt men [and] women who gave it their all this week on the battlefield."
Fans of the series can expect the lead characters — Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), Rollo (Clive Standen), and many others — to return to the second half of the season and the following season.
According to reports, the other half of "Vikings" season 4 episodes will feature the consequences brought about by Ragnar (Travis Fimmel). Furthermore, Winnick will reportedly be butting heads with Queen Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland). The cat fight between two powerful women will be a sight to see.
Creator Michael Hirst previously told The Hollywood Reporter that viewers will be seeing how Ragnar's return will affect his loved ones. "This season just propels us into a more universal kind of drama... how huge the impact of Ragnar's reappearance will be on the world at the time,"
"Vikings" season 4 is expected to return with its 11th episode on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 9 p.m. EDT on the History Channel.
