'Watch Dogs 2' news: Second DLC now available for PS4; expansion introduces new story missions, items, emotes, and more
The second expansion for Ubisoft's "Watch Dogs 2" is now out, bringing in new missions for players to explore.
Called "Human Conditions," the DLC introduces three story missions: Automata, Bad Medicine, and Caustic Progress. In Automata, Marcus must fight against the in-game internet company Nudle and its self-driving vehicles. Bad Medicine features Marcus teaming up with a hitman to take down a common enemy who is holding hospitals in the city for ransom.
Ubisoft's Mikel Reparaz noted that the events of this mission are not "dependent on the single-player campaign." However, players making their way through the game for the first time must complete Hacker Wars, Eye For an Eye, and W4tched first to unlock the new mission.
Meanwhile, Caustic Progress features DedSec trying to find ways to combat the deadly nanotech that's terrorizing homeless communities in San Francisco. Also included in the expansion are Elite co-op missions, which are developed with "advanced challenges" and "bigger layouts" to test more experienced gamers.
In addition, a new enemy type called Jammer is launched. The anti-hack devices in these enemies are capable of disabling players hacking abilities. This means that players must switch up their strategies every now and then.
Other contents and features added to the DLC are new dance moves, emotes (Mocking and Laughing), locations, club rewards, and clothing. The expansion is free for season pass holders across all platforms. Ubisoft has yet to reveal price details for non-season pass holders.
Earlier this month, Ubisoft said the game's debut was "not as dynamic as expected," but with the improving number of sales, "momentum [is] now positive" for the hacking game. Initial sales in the UK were down 80 percent compared to its predecessor, but the numbers have increased since.
"Human Conditions" is now accessible for PlayStation 4 users. The DLC will arrive on PC and Xbox One on March 23.
