Two months after the shocking fourth season finale of the prison drama, "Wentworth," fans are still clamoring for the actress Danielle Cormack to reprise her role as main protagonist Bea Smith in the show's fifth season.

According to GameNGuide, fans of "Wentworth," especially those rooting for the show's flagship pairing between Bea and new inmate Allie Novak (Kate Jenkinson), still can't get over the fact that Cormack's character is no more, as previously confirmed by executive producer Jo Porter herself.

Fondly dubbed as Ballie, the romance between Bea and Allie was cut short after former jail warden turned inmate Joan "The Freak" Ferguson (Pamela Rabe) purposefully overdosed Allie on lethal drugs and later on stabbed Bea multiple times with a screwdriver.

In a recent interview with Curve Magazine, Cormack expressed both pleasant surprise and gratitude for the fans' favorable reaction to Ballie. She further stated that the relationship between Bea and Allie had more to do with the character's sensuality than her sexuality. It wasn't about Bea being gay but was instead about her opening her heart up to someone who had no other agenda other than to genuinely connect with her as a person.

"Allie was someone who was really taken by Bea as a person," Cormack said, adding that Allie's intentions were never marred by ambition and that Allie saw remarkable qualities in Bea that Bea herself had never seen.

In an earlier interview with After Ellen, Jenkinson said that she never foresaw Bea and Allie's fate and that like the fans, she felt "completely blindsided." She also stated that the cast of the show were given a directive not to talk about "Wentworth" season 5, which prompted fans to speculate that the series may be cooking up some surprises for its 2017 run.

Additionally, an Instagram post by Cormack seemed to be hinting on her possible return to the show. Simply captioned, "BAE and me discussing seahorses," the short video showed herself and Jenkinson goofing around. Although, this could hardly serve as confirmation that Bea may still be alive, fans are still not giving up hope for a possible continuation of the "Ballie" romance in the future.

"Wenworth" season 5 is rumored to premiere in April or May next year.
