WWE rumors 2016: AJ Styles in the running for 2016 Superstar of the Year?

The WWE Superstar of the Year is about to be revealed as the days toward the end of 2016 get nearer, and it looks like the top wrestlers are in for a tough competition

According to a report from Auburn Citizen, Roman Reigns and Chris Jericho are in the running to bag the title. But it seems like AJ Styles might upset them.

Styles, who did not begin the year as part of the WWE roster, surprised the pro wrestling industry after ending up third in the Royal Rumble. He also has an ongoing grudge against Jericho. Though he was beaten by the veteran wrestler during their WrestleMania bout, his thirst for revenge still makes a good storyline.

The upcoming match against Reigns is also one of the most anticipated events in WWE today. This could prove that Styles have a good chance of winning the 2016 Superstar of the Year.

In another news, ESPN sat down with another veteran wrestler Big Show to talk about his plans in the wrestling industry in the future. According to Big Show, he will no longer try to dominate WWE at this point since he already experienced that in the past. He also said that he knows that there is a new breed of talents who are holding the top stop nowadays.

But the veteran wrestling pro acknowledged that he is still tied to the corporation at this point. "I know I still have some time left on this contract. It depends on how my role is going to change," Big Show stated.

The WWE Raw wrestler also claimed that professional wrestling is very close to his heart. "WWE is home, it's a family. I'll always be a part of this as long as I can contribute in some positive way. But I know there's a time when the sun sets on everything," he added.
