Xbox One Backward Compatibility list update: 7 new titles added in January 2017
After Xbox boss Phil Spencer promised in December that there will be a lot of interesting titles coming over for the Xbox One backward compatibility program at the start of the year, Microsoft fulfilled that promise by coming up with seven new additions to the catalog this January.
The list of Xbox 360 games that can now be played using Xbox One as announced by Major Nelson include "Battlefield: Bad Company 2," "Battlefield 3," "Dragon Age Origins," "The Splatters," "Scrap Metal," "Strania: The Stella Machina" and "Ghostbusters."
Electronic Arts (EA) first released the "Battlefield: Bad Company 2" as a direct sequel to the "Battlefield: Bad Company" first person shooter game in March 2010. Then the eleventh installment of the "Battlefield" franchise called the "Battlefield 3" was released in 2011. Both games received critical acclaims when released.
On the other hand, the dark heroic fantasy "Dragon Age: Origins" developed by BioWare was released by EA in November 2009. It became one of the best-selling games for Xbox 360 during the year of release.
Meanwhile, those who like puzzle video games will enjoy playing the 2011-released physics based game "The Splatters" on Xbox One. There will also be a new vehicular combat racing game on Xbox One from Slick Entertainment as soon as "Scrap Metal" joins the backward compatibility list.
The "Strania: The Stella Machina" from the Japanese boutique game studio G.rev will also be released on Xbox One through the backward compatibility program. Finally, the 2009-released "Ghostbusters: The Video Game" will also find its way to the latest generation Xbox console this month.
Those who already owned all these titles on Xbox 360 can instantly find them in their Xbox One library. But for those who still want to purchase them only has to visit the Xbox.com store to get hold of the games individually.
The rest of the list of Xbox One backward compatibility title can be found on the Major Nelson's website.
