Xbox One S 2 TB release date news: Latest console is sold out
The release of Microsoft's latest gaming console, Xbox One S, has certainly surprised many people after its limited 2 TB Xbox One S stocks were sold out.
According to a report by The Verge, the American software company has already released one variant of the highly anticipated Xbox One S. However, the 2 TB Xbox One S is a special limited edition model that was recently rolled out across the world.
"The 2 TB Xbox One S was released as a special launch edition in limited quantities only," Microsoft confirms with GameSpot in a statement, adding, "We're thrilled at the amount of interest we've received and we are always looking for opportunities to offer choice and fantastic value to our fans. Please check with your local retailer to determine whether the 2 TB Xbox One S is still available in your market."
According to reports, the limited edition gaming system is available for $399. There is still no news whether Microsoft will add more stocks for availability, after several reports confirmed that retailers are running out of the device.
This is definitely a good sign for Microsoft after it was previously reported by Venture Beat that the company experienced a decline in sales. Xbox One S could be the redeeming factor that can bring Microsoft back on top of the competition.
Several reports claim that the new Xbox One S is better than the current Xbox console in many aspects. It has better designs; it comes in handy as it is 40 percent smaller than the current system but with better internal storage capacity.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is also gearing up for the release of their next console, Project Scorpio, which is said to have better features. Although the company has yet to provide the release date details of the upcoming console, there are speculations suggesting that it will come out in 2017.
