The year 2017 is looking to be a great year for Microsoft and its Xbox brand. Fans are waiting for the release of the Xbox Project Scorpio before the end of the year, and many are eager to find out if Microsoft's claims that the upcoming gaming console is the most powerful one ever made.

While there's are only a few pieces of confirmed information about the features of the Project Scorpio, "Halo" boss Frank O'Connor has gotten a look at the hardware and has weighed in on the system.

Writing on NeoGAF, O'Connor said that although he hasn't paid careful attention to the details of the console's specs and features, he did go so far as to admit that Project Scorpio is "beefier" than he had expected.

"Haha, although I probably 'know' (what Project Scorpio's specs are) in that I might have seen it in a slide or something, it's literally not something I have time to think about now and I actually couldn't remember whatever specs I've been exposed to even if I was tortured," O'Connor explained.

"I literally couldn't leak or answer a question that went beyond, 'Can it do this? Does it support that? How many of these could it render?' What I do remember is that it's beefier than I expected," he added.

At the moment, no new "Halo" game for the Project Scorpio has so far been announced. However, according to Gamespot, it can be assumed that more games in the series are currently undergoing development, considering that "Halo" is one of Microsoft's most successful and well-known video game franchises.

Project Scorpio will be packed with 6 teraflops of performance, and it promises a lot of new and amazing features. In fact, Microsoft reportedly stated that the upcoming Xbox console will be more powerful than Sony's current game console, the PlayStation 4 Pro.

Xbox Project Scorpio is expected to launch sometime in late 2017.
