Xbox Project Scorpio rumors: Better graphics and processor for Project Scorpio
Following the recent launch of the Xbox One's slimmer version, Xbox One S, video game fans have already shifted their focus to the development and release of the upcoming Xbox Scorpio. Several rumors suggest that the Xbox Scorpio will be four times more powerful than the current Xbox One console.
According to Polygon, the new gaming system will carry a more powerful processor and better graphics than what the recently launched Xbox One S has. It is also said to sport a higher memory capacity for better overall performance. Although Microsoft has yet to confirm these reports, Xbox Scorpio is expected to feature 4K resolution.
It has already been mentioned by Xbox head Phil Spencer that Project Scorpio will be best experienced when paired with 4K TV.
"Then you should buy this box, because Scorpio is not going to do anything for you," said Spencer in an interview with Eurogamer at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) press conference back in June. "Scorpio is designed as a 4K console, and if you don't have a 4K TV, the benefit we've designed for, you're not going to see," he added.
"Clearly, you can buy Scorpio, and if and when you decide you want to buy a 4K television to take advantage of the increased performance, obviously the console will be ready for you," Spencer continued.
The Xbox head also said that Project Scorpio will become the most powerful gaming console ever built.
As of the moment, concrete details with regard to its development and release date have yet to be announced. However, in a report by VG247, Spencer revealed that developers are already working on the "hardware, platform and games" for the upcoming console.
Meanwhile, Xbox marketing head Aaron Greenberg already confirmed that developers will not be working on Xbox Scorpio exclusive games in a Twitter post back in June.
