Xbox Scorpio release date news 2016: New gaming console already in the works
When Microsoft announced its upcoming console, Xbox Scorpio, during the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016 in June, many fans stated to wonder when it will come out in the market. However, the American software giant did not provide concrete details with regard to the development and release date of the new gaming system.
According to a report by Digital Trends, the Xbox team has already confirmed the development of the new console. The announcement was made by none other than Xbox head himself, Phil Spencer.
The confirmation started when a fan asked the executive if the console is already in the works. Spencer answered the fan on Twitter stating that hardware, platform and games are already under development.
The announcement did not really surprise gaming fans as it was already expected; however, there is a sigh of relief knowing that the announcement was made by someone like Spencer.
The Xbox Scorpio is expected to come out during the holiday of 2017. The company as well as game developers definitely have enough time for a smooth development.
The new console is said to carry amazing specs and features including a 4K resolution support. It was previously mentioned by Spencer that the device needs a 4K monitor for it to work at its maximum level. The new console will carry a 6TFLOPS along with a whopping 8-core processing unite. Spencer claimed that a lot has already been done for the new gaming system; however, fans would like to see some of the work done.
Meanwhile, in a report by GameSpot, Spencer said that the announcement of the new Xbox Scorpio did not overshadow the new Xbox One Slim. Many industry observers were concerned that the announcement of the new console might affect the status of the upgraded Xbox One in the market.
There are still many things to learn about the new Xbox Scorpio. Fans expect Microsoft to provide more details about its development anytime soon.
