Xbox Scorpio release date, news, rumors; Enhanced Xbox console to boast VR support, full 4K display?
If the rumors are anything to go by, the much awaited Xbox Project Scorpio will be released very soon. The enhanced version of Microsoft's current home console, Xbox One, was announced by the company earlier this year, with the promise of bringing the gaming experience of players to the next level. The competition in the gaming industry continues to heat up, with Sony releasing their own advanced console version, the PS4 Pro. However, the Xbox Scorpio is expected to do well due to its top-of-the-line features.
According to the iTech Post, a full 4K display support is just among the exciting features of the Xbox Scorpio. When compared to Sony's PS4 Pro, the Xbox Scorpio seems to have more potential to deliver its promised quality 4K viewing with the console's featured 6 TFLOPS. The console offers dual functionality that allows 4K viewing for videos and a separate HDR for gaming. Moreover, the Xbox Scorpio is also expected to be powered by at least 8-core processors, boosting the console's overall performance.
The Xbox planning-in-charge executive, Albert Penello, claims that the Project Scorpio's advertised 4K performance is the "absolute 4K gaming presentation," and any other devices that also promise the same feature will not come close to the Xbox Scorpio's capabilities.
Aside from the 4K display, the Xbox Scorpio is expected to boast virtual reality (VR) capabilities. In the advent of video games featuring virtual reality contents, the Xbox Scorpio will be the best choice to bring out the best possible outcome of VR gaming.
On the other hand, it was confirmed that the upcoming Xbox Scorpio will still feature the Xbox One's backward compatibility with older Xbox 360 game titles, VG 24/7 reported. This means that the players can enjoy their favorite classic video games with the Xbox Scorpio's 4K gaming. Game titles from the "Call of Duty" series and the "Red Dead Redemption" are an example of the video games that will be playable in the upcoming Xbox console.
