'Xenoblade Chronicles X' Game Review: Trailer Reveals Giant Mechs Called 'Dolls'
"Xenoblade Chronicles X" is set to be released exclusively on the Wii U. As usual, the game will first land in Japan on April 29 and then make its way to the U.S. sometime in the latter half of the year.
Recent news about the game has been centered on the release of a trailer which showcases giant mechs called "dolls" in the game.
In addition to the "dolls" in the trailer, there was more information about squads in the game, each of which will consist of 32 people. There will also be Squad Missions consisting of four players who will have to face off against supersized enemies dubbed "World Bosses" and also participate in single-player combat.
As for the dolls in the "Xenoblade Chronicles X" they will come in three versions starting with light, then medium level and a final heavy level. Each of the dolls will come with their own statistics. Players will be able to control their abilities while viewing the action from a cockpit.
Pilots in these robots will be called up to protect New Los Angeles as aliens attack. These giant sized robots can also transform into other vehicles such as motorcycles or tanks.
AlwaysNintendo said the light version doll will be very fast, while the middle version will be able to take a beating and be very mobile. Finally the heavy version will able to withstand a onslaught better than the others. On board these robots will come a huge amount of weapons ranging from hand-held ones to shields, beam sabers and huge cannons with laser rays.
Player will also be able to customize their dolls to a great extent with parts and specific weapons. They can even paint them with their desired colors. In addition to weapons, these dolls can employ their art or skills in battle.
