Xiaomi Mi 6, the highly-anticipated successor to the Mi 5 smartphone, is expected to be launched sometime in the first half of 2017. However, rumors have varied on which month in 2017 will the launch date of the gadget fall. Some have suggested that Xiaomi will unveil the MI 6 in February while others believe that it would be delayed until April.

But it looks like tech enthusiasts won't have to wait too long for the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi 6. According to GSM Arena, new reports have suggested that the device will be unveiled on Feb. 6 and that selling would start around March 2017.

Previous reports about the possible delay of the gadget's launch to April reportedly had something to do with the speculation that Samsung is currently unable to produce an adequate supply of Snapdragon 835 chipsets for Qualcomm. The much-awaited processor chip is said to be Xiaomi's choice to power its flagship smartphone device.

However, a Chinese analyst allegedly dispelled these rumors by claiming that Xiaomi has already begun to receive shipments of the Snapdragon 835 for the Mi 6 smartphone. Hence, the phone will be available in time for the Feb. 6 announcement and will be sold as planned in March, albeit in limited quantities in the first few weeks.

Aside from being powered by the Snapdragon 835, the Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone will reportedly have two variants. As reported by Gadgets 360, the first variant will have 256 GB of internal memory with 6 GB of RAM, while the other variant will have 128 GB of storage memory. The smartphone will also be offered in different color options such as Black, White, and Blue.

According to a report from iTech Post, the Xiaomi Mi 6 may be featuring a 16 MP rear camera with laser autofocus, dual LED flash, and Optical Image Stabilizer. It could also feature an 8 MP retractable front camera. The gadget is speculated to be fueled by a 4000 mAh battery, which can be charged through the devices' wireless fast charging feature.

Nevertheless, Xiaomi has yet to confirm or deny these rumors concerning their upcoming Mi 6 smartphone.
