Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 release date, specs, news: new leak reveals full specs; tablet to be thinner and lighter than iPad Pro?
A couple of weeks prior to the release of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3, details about the specifications and features of the tablet were leaked.
The device was spotted running Windows 10. While it is not a surprise that the tablet has the operating system (OS), it is being said that there will be no Android model to be offered.
Unlike its predecessor, the unannounced Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 is rumored to only run Windows. It remains to be seen if this will be the case and what brought the Chinese company to go that route.
As for the other specs, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 is expected to come with an all-metal chassis. It will also reportedly sport a 9.7-inch display with a screen resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels.
While this shares the same size with its competition, the Apple iPad Pro 9.7, Xiaomi will make their very own thinner and lighter at 6.08 millimeter and 380 grams.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 will also come with seventh-generation 2.6GHz dual-core Intel M3-7Y30 processor paired with 8GB random access memory (RAM). There will be two storage configurations. One will be 128GB and the other will be 256GB.
In the camera department of the tablet is a 16-megapixel primary camera complete with dual light-emitting diode (LED) flash. On the front is an 8-megapixel (MP) selfie shooter.
Other features to expect in the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 include a USB Type-C port and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the front of the device.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 is rumored to see the light of day on Friday, Dec. 30. It is expected to go toe to toe with Apple's new iPad Pro 2 releases for next year.
As for the pricing, the 128GB version is expected to be priced at CNY 1,999 while the 256GB version will cost users CNY 2,299.
