Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has recently launched its new phablet device called Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Initially announced in the previous month, the new handset carries a metallic body and features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1920x1080 pixels resolutions. It is currently available in China; however, several Chinese retailers are shipping out the device in other markets across the globe.

According to a report by Neurogadget, the device has recently been spotted in several tech stores in Malaysia. The company did not officially release the device in the South East Asian region but there are reports suggesting that Chinese retailers are shipping to buyers outside China.

In a report by MIUI, the Redmi Note 4 was one of the most anticipated smartphones in the Chinese market. It runs on a ten-core Helio X20 processor from MediaTek. Another variant of the device is powered by a Snapdragon chipset, which is said to be launched in India anytime soon.

According to the report, the phablet arrives in two storage variant – the 16 GB and 64 GB models. The 16 GB version of the device carries the same processor paired with 2 GB of RAM, while the 64 GB model has a 3 GB of RAM. However, both variants are expandable to 128 GB using a microSD card.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 carries a 13 PM primary camera with dual-LED flash and phase detection autofocus. The device also sports a 5 MP front-facing snapper.

The hybrid phablet comes with a preinstalled Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS paired with the new MIUI 8.0 Xiaomi software. There is still no report suggesting whether the device will get the latest Google operating system update, Android 7.0 Nougat.
