The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is smaller, thinner and lighter than the Motorola Droid Turbo. But when it comes to a comparison between the two devices, it is clear that the device from Sony is no pushover.

Design

The Droid Turbo has a plastic build and has capacitive keys on its front, while its back panel either comes in Kevlar or ballistic nylon, which does nothing to improve the design of the device. On the other hand, the Xperia Z3 Compact also has a plastic frame, but its back and front are covered with glass and its corners feature nylon which helps reduce any damage from accidental drops. Also the Xperia Z3 Compact is waterproof and comes with an IP68 certification.

Display

The Droid Turbo is a true beast of a device as it has a Super AMOLED screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch. As for the Xperia Z3 Compact it has a smaller IPS LCD screen measuring 4.6 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a density of 319 pixels per inch.

Specs

The Xperia Z3 Compact comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. The Droid Turbo has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset Quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU.

Memory

A major difference between the two devices is that the Droid Turbo does not have a memory card slot, while the Xperia Z3 Compact has one that can be used to add external storage of up to 128 GB. In terms of RAM, the Droid Turbo has 3 GB while the Xperia Z3 Compact has 2 GB.

Battery

The Droid Turbo has a huge 3900 mAh battery that can provide 48 hours of talk time. The Xperia Z3 has a 2600 mAh version that can provide up to 14 hours of talk time.

Price

The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is priced at $499 on Amazon while the Droid Turbo costs $199 with a two-year contract and $599 at its full retail price.
