Justin Bieber's mom prays Holy Spirit will teach singer a lesson after NBA Finals Game 3 fight
The mother of pop sensation Justin Bieber prayed for the Holy Spirit to come down and teach her son as a viral video showed him beat up in an altercation after watching NBA Finals Game 3 in Cleveland on June 8.
Bieber's mom, Pattie Mallette, took to Twitter to share a prayer after a video footage circulated online showing his son knocked down in a brutal brawl.
"Holy Spirit come and teach us each who you are. Amen," Mallette tweeted.
The 22-year-old singer made negative reports a few years ago after getting himself involved in several controversies. Mallette, who released a memoir "Nowhere But Up" in 2013, remained silent on her son's public controversies.
She told Access Hollywood then, "Everybody has their own opinion and everybody wants to sensationalize everything."
She also shared that her teen son didn't want her to comment on the issues.
She only added, "I hope to still be a respected voice in his ear."
In an interview last year, Bieber admitted that his relationship with his mom had become "nonexisting."
"We spent some time not talking, so it takes time to rebuild that trust. She's living in Hawaii now, so it's hard, but getting better," he told Billboard.
Reportedly baptized in 2014, the singer became an outspoken Christian who talked about his Christian faith during interviews and shared worship songs as some of his favorites. He even uploaded an Instagram post that captured him singing "Awesome God" with his close friends, Hillsong New York City Pastor Carl Lentz and Trinity Church Pastor Rich Wilkerson.
He revealed that his mom was responsible for his Christian faith and that she always made him listen to Pastor Judah Smith's tapes when he was 7.
On his birthday this year, Bieber's mother tweeted, "22 years ago I was 18yrs old, pregnant & scared. But God. Lord encounter @justinbieber for his bday! Give him all I couldn't, in Jesus name."
