'Injustice 2' release date, latest news: Black Canary now playable in game's beta version
"Injustice 2" is just a few months away until its release to the gaming community, which means NetherRealm Studios still has plenty of time to showcase and promote the game before it arrives.
A new character was supposed to revealed this week, but it was delayed until Monday. In the meantime, however, the game developer has updated the game's closed beta version by adding another playable character.
The character roster of the closed beta of the game currently includes Superman, Batman, Supergirl, Blue Beetle, and Atrocitus as playable characters. According to Attack of the Fanboy, the recently-announced game character, Black Canary, has also been added into the beta's mix.
As previously reported, Black Canary was announced to be a new game character for "Injustice 2" earlier this month. Black Canary's role in the storyline of "Injustice 2" does not seem as crucial as that of other previously-announced characters, and her character's gameplay trailer only offers a very brief glimpse at the skills and moves she will use in the upcoming video game. But now, selected gamers are given the chance to test her out for themselves with the beta version of "Injustice 2."
The closed beta for "Injustice 2" is reportedly still very limited, with very few people selected to be a part of it. An initial sign-up period for those who were interested in testing out the game before its release was opened, but not many were admitted into the program.
At present, the online beta registration is unavailable. However, new invitations to the beta are sent out each week, so there is still hope for those gaming fans who want to get a taste of the gaming experience of "Injustice 2" ahead of its upcoming launch.
"Injustice 2," published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by NetherRealm Studios, is expected to arrive on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 16. The game's Android and iOS versions will also be released after the main game's launch.
