Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date, specs news 2016: Device to release in June?

There have been numerous rumors and speculations surrounding the development and release of the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5. Dubbed by many as the "laptop killer," the device is set to be unveiled in June by the American software giant.

According to reports, the Surface Pro 5 is Microsoft's answer to the upcoming Apple MacBook laptop. There are reports suggesting that the Cupertino-based company will reveal the highly anticipated Apple MacBook at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference 2016, which will happen from June 13 to 17. Apparently, some reports suggest that Microsoft plans to drop its own device to compete with Apple's latest iteration.

However, the June release may not happen as Microsoft has yet to provide any official statement regarding its latest development. There are also rumors suggesting that the company will not have a 2016 release of their Microsoft Surface Pro 5 because they have decided to delay the development. Reports added that the company will choose to have a 2017 rollout of the laptop, as reported by Christian Times.

Rumor has it that Microsoft is waiting for their latest operating system software to arrive before they decide on a specific date to release the laptop. Apparently, the company is using the same business strategy Google is doing for their next Nexus releases. According to the reports, Google is waiting for their next Android operating system to get materialized before releasing another Nexus iteration.

Meanwhile, even with Microsoft's silence, fans have continued to hype up the upcoming Surface Pro 5 by starting a rumor suggesting its specs and features. According to them, the laptop will be powered by Intel's latest development, Kaby Lake processor. There are also speculations that the device will have a DisplayPort, along with a microSD card slot and a USB Type-C port.

As of now, all fans can do is wait for the company to finally release a statement with regard to Microsoft Surface Pro 5.
