'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 8 air date, spoilers news: Everything to know about 2-episode premiere; premiere date pushed forward
Initially slated for an Oct. 2 release, the premiere date of "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 has been moved up to an earlier date. Moreover, it has just been revealed that the upcoming installment will see a 2-episode premiere.
The two episodes will be titled "High-Value Target" and "Belly of the Beast," respectively, and if the episode titles are any indication, it looks like the task force will be up against some intense happenings along the way.
Some fans may be wondering, though, why the Oct. 2 premiere of "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 was moved to Sept. 25. Well, apparently, the docu-series that CBS will be showing, "The Case of JonBenet Ramsey" was shortened from six to four hours. This prompted the network to advance the premiere of the procedural crime drama.
The two-episode premiere will air on the same day, occupying the whole of two hours, and show time will begin in its usual airtime.
As for the premiere's storyline, Spoiler TV shares that the episode will be pretty exciting, which will see a change in leadership. It will be recalled that season 7 didn't end on a good note for the team, as someone among them was suspected of being a mole.
It seems Under Secretary of Defense Corbin Duggan (Jackson Hurst) will insist that the leader of the NCIS team be changed after the team fails to discover the identity of the mole in their department. That said, fans should prepare themselves for the fact that Hetty (Linda Hunt) and Granger (Miguel Ferrer) will not be helming the ship when it sets sail for its eighth season.
The upcoming season will likewise see the NCIS team taking on an overseas assignment that will take them to Syria. However, it appears the mission will not go as plan, leading to one of the team members getting severely injured. It remains to be seen whether this team member is Daniela Ruah, who plays Kensi Blye, as it has been previously teased that her character will go through a life-altering situation (Ruah needed time away from the series to give birth to her second child).
The 2-hour "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 premiere will drop in on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8:30-10:30 p.m., ET/CT on CBS.
