'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 8 spoilers, plot updates: Is Deeks getting new partner? Some teasers on what lies ahead

The eighth installment of procedural crime drama "NCIS: Los Angeles" is airing in less than two months, and fans are already excited about what lies in store for them when the show returns. Could the upcoming season hear wedding bells ringing for fan-favorite pair Kensi Blye and Marty Deeks?

In season 7 of the series, fans saw Kensi (Daniella Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) taking their relationship to the next level when they decided to live together. Will the upcoming season see the two taking their relationship a step further by getting married?

That's what fans are assuming, seeing as Daniella Ruah is pregnant in real life. Some are saying it will be a good idea to incorporate her pregnancy into season 8's arc, with a baby figuring into the "DenSi" relationship. However, it looks like the showrunners want a proper proposal first before anything else.

Showrunner Scott Gemmill has previously said that Kensi will experience a pivotal transition in her life in "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8, and this could be used as a possible arc now that Ruah has taken her maternity leave. It may have something to do with season 7 big bad Tahir Khaled (Anslem Richardson).

LL Cool J, who plays Sam Hanna on the series, teased that someone will die in season 8. The death may be tied to a Syrian terrorist who will figure in an arc in the upcoming installment, and some think this will still be connected to Tahir, and that they could be responsible for putting Kensi's life in danger in season 8. It remains to be seen if any of these will transpire when the series finally starts airing this October.

Meanwhile, there are speculations that Deeks will be getting a new partner while Kensi is busy with a mysterious task. Still, Ruah assures fans that they will not even realize that she's gone from the series. Speaking to TV Overmind, Ruah applauded the writers for working her pregnancy into Kensi's life seamlessly, so much so that when she reports back to the set two weeks after giving birth, her storyline will continue smoothly.

"Because of the pregnancy they've [the writers] been forced to take a very drastic turn in this character's life. That brings something completely new for me to play. ... The way they've written the scenes I [will have] shot most of it before birth, a couple of weeks [after I give birth] I will be back to shoot a couple of scenes within that storyline. You won't even notice that I've been gone, I'll be in every episode," she said.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 is returning to CBS on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. EST.
