'NCIS: New Orleans' season 3 spoilers update 2016: New badass agent has secret? Team Pride handles new case right off the bat

"NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 will premiere right after its parent series, "NCIS" on CBS this Tuesday, and if one of the two promo teasers released by the show is any indication, it looks like the premiere episode holds a lot of promise for the much anticipated third season

Season 2 finale saw Agent Meredith Brody (Zoe McLellan) making poor decisions that compromised the integrity of Team Pride. Brody has since left the team to avoid implicating them further, but a new female agent, Tammy Gregorio (Vanessa Ferlito), has been sent down from Washington D.C. to New Orleans to monitor how Pride (Scott Bakula) and his team perform their operations.

The premiere episode of "NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 titled "Aftershocks" will pick up right after the events that marked the season 2 finale, and in one of the two new spoiler clips released a few days ago, Agents Pride (Scott Bakula), Percy (Shalita Grant), and LaSalle (Lucas Black) can be seen checking out a homicide scene. The murder seems to be the work of a highly accurate sniper, and in the video seen below, the three can be seen trying to figure out as much as they could about the sniper.

"The NCIS team will end up partnering with several federal agencies to track a sniper who is targeting crowded events in the city. Also, FBI Special Agent ,Tammy Gregorio, is going to arrive to investigate Pride and his team," reads the synopsis shared on Hollywood Hills.

Meanwhile, in an interview with TV Guide, Ferlito described her character as "pretty bad ass." Apparently, Agent Gregorio's no-nonsense, abrasive style will cause friction with the team, more so with Agent Percy. However, something will happen come episode 5.

"Around Episode 5, you'll start to see a vulnerable side to her," Ferlito said in the interview. "Pride knows what it's all about."

"Her weakness is this burden she carries from her past. It's really bad. She feels responsible that many people suffered as a result of something she was involved with," Ferlito said, which is why Gregorio decided to join the FBI.

According to Ferlito, it's "very possible" that this weakness has something to do with a past lover.

"NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 is premiering Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 10/9 CT on CBS.
