'Sister Wives' season 8 air date, updates: TLC continues to keep mum on renewal or cancellation; wives threatening to quite show?
The fate of "Sister Wives" season 8 continues to hang in the balance, with TLC keeping mum on whether they will renew the series or axe it. Apparently, the indecision stems from Kody Brown's plans to take on two new wives.
It has been almost three months since the seventh season of the reality TV series "Sister Wives," which follows the life of a polygamous family, ended. Until now, TLC hasn't given any word regarding the show's renewal or cancellation, and according to reports, the various issues of the family is too much for the network to bear, making it hard for them to decide on the show's fate.
First was the catfishing scandal in which Meri Brown, Kody's first wife, got involved in, which became a hot topic in the seventh season. Then, there are rumors that Kody is apparently looking to add two more wives to his growing family, something that isn't sitting well with the sister wives.
Life and Style magazine reports that three of Kody's wives are threatening to quit the show after learning that Kody is considering getting wives five and six. That much was revealed by Kendra Pollard, a family friend of the Browns.
"Kody is really, really, sweating losing the show and he's doing everything he can to keep it," Pollard said to the magazine.
The magazine's cover article claims two wives are certain of their decision to leave while one wife is "already dating." On the other hand, an unnamed source told the magazine that the show faces possible cancellation should Kody bring in more women because apparently, "TLC knows he's not well-liked by viewers."
Pollard confirmed in another interview with Hollywood Life that Robyn, the most recent wife whom Kody married, "said she'll leave" if Kody marries again because that "isn't what she signed up for."
Meanwhile, other rumors point to Kody's recent behavior as the reason why TLC is retaliating by not disclosing the fate of the show. According to speculations, Kody is getting mad, losing his patience, and demanding that TLC renew the show. While there has been no confirmation regarding this matter, fans are worried Kody's condition might cause him and his family to lose the show.
Should TLC give "Sister Wives" season 8 the green light, fans could expect the show to air sometime in 2017.
